Business Continuity Planning
A large United States government organization was given a 12 month edict to prepare more than one hundred hospitals in their domain to achieve system wide Continuity of Operations Plans. There was little to no existing plans and in fact knowledge of the subject. The requirement was to teach what COOP really meant and how to understand when it is truly achieved and then the extremely detailed process of actually architecting a plan which requires full executive and departmental cooperation. The Continuity of Operations Planning endgame is to guarantee unbroken delivery of health care service in the community served. The process can take years to truly validate such readiness.
R-S-I won a nation wide competitive search. R-S-I committed to providing a turnkey approach to the project, with measurable performance metrics and thorough documentation. R-S-I researched dozens of COOP plan documents for best practices and with full government collaboration delivered a template COOP plan and custom development methodology along with database technology to form the curriculum used to train over 90 hospitals in the first year. R-S-I was not only given a two year extension to continue the successful program build-out, it was also awarded an additional contract to perform the same service to the next tier of the healthcare system; Community Health Centers.
